Winning Gold at my First Tournament
I first started playing badminton in February 2019. And I am sure that, if you are reading this, you know what it takes to learn a new sport, the hours of training and playing, the frustration of not getting it right at the beginning, the joy and elation when you do, the moment when you realize that you are actually quite good and could enter a competition. It’s a journey, and like any journey in life, it has its trials and triumphs.
I am in my forties, and when I began on this journey, I hadn’t anticipated it taking me so far. The turning point came for me when I realized that I can use my energy healing tools to address the negative thought patterns that surfaced every time I played.
What followed was a complete transformation in my mental attitude, determination, desire to set goals and achieve them, dedication to my training, focus, emotional responses on the court, physical strength, speed and stamina, to name a few. My game improved so quickly that the people I played with would comment on it, asking me for my secret to success.
In October 2021, I entered my first Senior, Veteran, and Master Sao Paulo State badminton tournament and won two gold medals. At the Open State tournament that followed, I took home the silver.
